KISS & imPRESS at NYFW 2019

The BIG Beauty BUZZ at this year’s NYFW Fall/Winter 2019 shows in NYC was all about KISS! The easy to apply glue-on and press-on nails showed up in multiple shows including Rebecca Minkoff–where models walked down the runway in glam-accented Salon Acrylic Natural Nails, and at alice + olivia–where models had their nails adorned with customized imPRESS Press-on Manicure designs.

At Rebecca Minkoff SS19, KISS Brand Ambassador and celebrity manicurist Gina Edwards turned classic KISS Salon Acrylic Natural Nails into show-stopping one-of-a-kind designs that attracted oohs and ahhs along the runway. Edwards painted the artificial nails with a wash of color using KISS GEL STRONG nail polish in yellow, green, silver, or pink, starting at the base and fading the color towards the nail tip. As a finishing touch, Edwards drew a diagonal accent line using KISS Nail Art Paint in silver. Manicurists, models, and fashion and beauty influencers were awed by how using KISS nails as a “canvas” makes it so easy to create one-of-a-kind nail art, which can then be glued or pressed on in minutes!

For the “Fantasia” themed collection for alice + olivia, “the nails this season are whimsical beauty; butterflies and Bordeaux beauty. Fantasy fingers!” said designer Stacey Bendet. “I recently collaborated with KISS to create my alice+ olivia x imPRESS Limited Edition Collection, so I knew they would be the perfect partner to bring my wildest butterfly nail dreams to life.” Models wore imPRESS styles in: sparkly white (‘Stace Face’ from the alice+ olivia x imPRESS Limited Edition Collection), deep burgundy (‘Casting Call’), or black (’Text Appeal’). Edwards hand-painted the details of each acrylic butterfly’s wings with KISS Nail Art Paint in Black (Gala Kit). For the larger monarchs, Edwards adorned the bodies with glimmering Real Crystals by KISS.

Overall, nails shown at NYFW Fall/Winter 2019 reflected fall’s seasonal beauty, with bronze and silver glitters, holographic finishes, warm neutrals and even tortoiseshell designs. Many designers took it up a notch with artful graphics and unprecedented and whimsical 3D accents like alice + olivia’s acrylic butterflies.
